Will God Forgive Me? | Past Sin and The Prodigal Son | Luke 15 & Zechariah 3 Bible Devotional

Bible Devotional / Bible Study The Parable of the Prodigal Son
Will God Forgive Me? A parable is a story, used to illustrate spiritual
truth. Jesus used them all the time. A familiar one is known as the parable of
the prodigal Son. It’s the story of a young man who leaves
home in hopes to experience life outside the responsibilities and care of his father. But as always with sin, the excitement is
short lived, and the costs are far more than anyone can afford. The experience for this son was no different. It’s at his lowest, where he is literally
covered in pig filth, that he realizes his mistake. So he determines to return to his father,
in hopes he will be accepted back. The beauty of the story is that while the
son turned his back on his father, the father never turned his back on his son. As the son neared home, his father runs out
to embrace him, and accepts him! He take away the filthy clothes and gives
him the best clean clothes he has! While there’s more to the story, that scene
of the son receiving new clothes is so powerful because it pictures God’s forgiveness! We see a parallel in the Old Testament where,
in a vision, Joshua is standing before God with filthy garments on. And like the prodigal son, God says, “Remove
the filthy garments from him.” And to him he said, “Behold, I have taken
your iniquity away from you, and I will clothe you with pure vestments.” In both of those passages, it didn’t matter
how the garments got stained. It didn’t matter what types of stains they
had. In both passages, the key was going to God. So if you struggle with the question, “will
God forgive me for my past sin,” the answer is, yes. When you place our faith in Jesus Christ, there is
no sin stain that God can’t take away. That’s today’s Bible Munch. If this devotional was encouraging, please

I've got a question for you bud, I need some help. I really like your videos, the quality, how they're concise and clear and uncompromising. lately I've been feeling called to go into some form of public ministry, frankly I'm terrified of this, of the unknown and feeling unprepared etc. nevertheless, I want try to but don't know what to do; how to start and keep going. on top of this I'm not really educated well in regards to the bible nor do I know how I would do so and public speaking is not my forte. any advice?
Really needed this on so many levels thank you so much!!!
Love this devotional. It's wonderful that no matter what we've done, or where we've been, we can never ever out sin God's grace.
God loves you all !!! His arms are always open
Hi Munch… I understand that He will forgive us of past sin but what about ongoing sins… I try but sometimes fail… Thank u
Praise be to almighty God !…..And blessings to you !
Great connecting with Zechariah 3, Pastor. I wasn't aware of that passage!
Truly, the Scriptures are self-proving with all of the thousands of mysterious intricacies which are all impossible outside of a realm of God's handiwork.
Thankyou Lord! Thankyou Jesus! How great is Your Love oh God! How great!!!!
I love this video. A reminder that God is a forgiving Father.
Nice vid man
Keep up the good work with these Munches! I'm studying ministry myself, and I enjoy the brevity and concise wording of your videos. I'll be sure to share these whenever I can.
"it didn't matter how the garments got stained" . powerful. I struggle with knowing that God will forgive me. 😔thank you.
My problem is how to find my way to God. It seems like Im losing my tract again. I feel like I am a prisoner. I don't know how to escape. My emotions vs my conscience what to do ?
accept Jesus Christ
I really needed to hear this right now. Thank you so much. God bless 😉
Hey there,
I enjoy your videos and was hoping you could help me further understand God. I am a Christian and have a longing to be fully certain of my salvation through Jesus Christ and God's plan for me and the people around me. I pray to God daily for guidance and strength in doing this, and I find the good fortune of my life to be a blessing from Jesus. That being said, I am a person with a wandering mind and a craving for facts and security. I know I want to follow God with all my heart and I try to do so, but I feel somewhat incomplete in this as I don't have any factual evidence of God's existence, I only have my own interpretations. I have faith that my life's decisions are from God but I would feel much more confident and secure in my faith if I KNEW that God was real and everything does stem from God. I know the scriptural phrase of walking by faith rather than sight, but I feel like I'll never be at rest and at peace with myself if I don't truly know for sure. If you could offer any words of encouragement or advice it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and God bless you sir
I feel like God has not forgive me fully
I feel guilty
God always welcomes us back.
