Trinity – explained for Muslims in 3 steps in about 5 minutes. Beforehand, some short information: You don’t find the word “trinity” in the Bible. Many find this term to be helpful. Jesus says that we should baptise in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. However, he did not use the term “trinity”. Neither did Jesus’ followers know the term “trinity”. It was much more important that they experienced this God, that they experienced God’s word, that they experienced the leading of his spirit. Thus, step 1 is: Read the first 3 sentences in the Bible. “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.” God said. His word was already with him in the beginning and that, by the way, Muslims teach as well. The heavenly Quran, God’s word, was with Allah from the beginning. Some background knowledge: 200 years after Mohammad’s death there were many Muslim scholars who said: Allah has always been entirely one. Nothing was next to him. The Quran, the word of God was not created until later. They say it is “shirk”, “association”, the greatest sin to believe that the Quran has been existing for eternity next to Allah. But these Muslims and there doctrine were rebuked as being false. Sunnites and Shiites today believe that the word of God, the Quran was not created but has been existing for eternity with Allah because it is his speaking and his trait. The Quran was only sent down. Thus, Muslims today don’t have a problem with that. Step 2: Read from the book of John chapter 1, verses 1 and 14. In John 1:1 it says: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” So, the word was with God and it was God. How is that possible? Who understands that? God is greater than you think. Who can grasp God’s being? Who understands his character? Only God himself. We can’t even truly understand one of his traits. Eternity – the eternal God Eternity, eternal God – who can explain eternity? Is eternity a lie because I can’t explain it? No. And neither do we have to be able to fully explain God. Let’s not limit God to what we understand about him. You have questions about this Bible verse John 1, verse 1? Then watch one of these videos. And now verse 14: “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory” Good news: you want to understand what God’s will is for you? Then you don’t have to guess anymore in what way a certain verse needs to be laid. His word became flesh in Jesus Christ as our role model. In the Quran it says as well that Jesus is the word of God. He is a word from God. Attention: You believe that the word of God is a creation? If yes: Then how was the word of God created? By the word, isn’t it? This is not explained in the Quran. Neither can the first Quran commentaries explain it. It remains a secret in Islam. However, in the Bible we find more about this. In John 1:14 it continues: Jesus is the one and only, the unique son of the Father. Thus, Jesus is the Son of God. But: God didn’t father a child biologically like a man. No. Christians don’t believe this either. The Quran also talks about the sons of the street but that is referring to travelers. Jesus too calls his followers “sons of thunder” at one point. Yet, he doesn’t say by that that they are biological sons of thunder. The term “son” is supposed to show the unique, intimate relationship between father and son. Do you have more questions about the description “Son of God”? Then watch one of these videos. Step 3: Read 4 verses from the last book in the Bible, the Revelation of the apostle John. There, a follower of Jesus falls to his knees before somebody. He says to him in Revelation 1, verse 17: ” “Fear not, I am the first and the last, and the living one. I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades.” Who is this? Now at the latest many say that the Bible is distorted. Here is a video concerning that. The Bible was passed down reliably. This person is the first and the last. These are names for Allah in Islam. No creature is allowed to name itself one of the 99 names of Allah except for the one God. Is this God? It also says there: “I died, and behold I am alive forevermore” Who can that be? You know it. Jesus. Jesus died and rose again. But how can God be killed? Was there no God anymore then? How can God be in heaven and on earth? Counter question: How can the Quran be destroyed? If it is with God in heaven for eternity? The eternal word of God. Is there no Quran anymore then? And yet it was often torn and destroyed. Muslims often say here that the heavenly Quran was saved and protected. But when the Quran was sent down, it was possible that it got torn and destroyed by humans. Of course, that is no perfect comparison but dear Muslims: God can see without eyes. God can speak without a mouth. God can become human. Nothing is impossible for him. The eternal word became flesh. Jesus voluntarily let himself be lowered. Because of that it was possible that he got torn and destroyed by humans. On the third day he rose again. Jesus says: I was dead and now I am alive. By the way, the same Jesus also says: “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment.” So Jesus also is Alpha and Omega, the beginning and end of the Greek alphabet and that supports his existence from the beginning for all eternity. One last sentence from the mouth of Jesus: ” “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” ” Who is beginning and end? Who is Alpha and Omega? Who is the Almighty? Who is God? It is no sin if you accept God’s character to be how God has revealed himself in the Bible. To the contrary, you accept him in the way that he wants it, not more and not less. Do you want that? Then read the Bible passages again and have faith that he wouldn’t allow for you to be deceived. Step 1: Genesis 1:1-3. Step 2: John 1:1+14. Step 3: Revelation 1:17-18, Revelation 21:6, Revelation 1:8.
